Research shows that about half (41%) of women in the Netherlands experience physical and/or sexual violence at some point in their lives. International studies show that self-defense not only reduces the risk of victimization, but also increases self-confidence, reduces anxiety and accelerates the reduction of stress symptoms such as PTSD.
The self-defense course for women is taught by Certified Krav Maga Instructor Tamara Deceuninck with a broad and practical knowledge of self-defense. Our trainer has years of experience and has trained under the best experts from Israel, where Krav Maga originated. She has also worked with instructors with backgrounds in the police force and the military. This gives the course a very realistic and effective approach. So, you are in good hands, and you will learn from someone with a very solid background.
At Ariseyah, you will train practical self-defense in Kortrijk in a safe and supportive environment. This way, you not only build physical resilience, but also mental resilience and self-confidence.
The course will take place at the Dominion Centre in Amsterdam (Duivendrecht). Are you coming by car? You can park for free in the designated parking spaces around the building. Do you travel by public transport? The Dominion Centre is easily accessible; Metro stop Van der Madeweg is just a 5-minute walk away.
For an optimal and safe training experience, we ask that you bring a few things with you. Wear comfortable sportswear: athletic pants, a T-shirt and a sports bra. Indoor athletic shoes are required to protect the floor and provide adequate grip. Also, don’t forget to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
